After a two year hiatus, I finally returned home. George's garage is next door to a Porsche shop that builds and maintains Porsche racecars and this view was too good to pass up.
Coach didn't have any of the sunglasses that May recommended to me so I took a big leap of faith and went w/ my better judgement. Judging by Becky's reaction, I think for once, I made a good decision.
Gee, what could be in this box? Something from Coach, perhaps? But the box is too small for a handbag...
I also got Becky a tote from Coach. I was worried that she would not like this bag (is that even possible?), but my source re-affirmed me that it would not be the case.
Hmmm... the first box was too small for a handbag and this one is too big. What could this possibly be...?
It's good to have alot of friends that care about you. I wish I had this many friends...
Carlo and Lesan got Becky a gift certificate for the Red Door Spa.
Hey, how come I didn't get a heart in my birthday card Thuy...
Thanks Thuy, I love red wines!
John (and May) got Becky a Coach umbrella. They really make those things???
You know you're a Coach freak when you're wearing a handbag.
George and Pam got Thomas and Emily presents too!
George and Pam got Becky a gift card for Petsmart. The dog on the card looks like Rockie.
Henry gets an "A" for effort, and an "A" for laziness. C'mon Henry, where's that creativity! :-)
Becky turned one this year.
Garlic beef and ribeye. Not shown: filet, bacon wrapped filet, lamb chop, bacon wrapped chicken breast, chicken leg, pork sausage, pork ribs, parmesan pork chop, top sirlion, bottom sirloin, and a couple of other meats that slip my mind.
Side dishes AKA unnecessary fillers.
These things are dangerous. They are some sort of cheese puff. I think they are laced with crack. Because you eat one and next thing you know you're so full of them that you can't eat any meat, which is the point of going to Fogo de Chao.
Sam and half of Henry. First stab at taking pictures by eyeballing. I need more practice.
Flips in da house: John, May, Lesan, and Carlo.
George and Pam. I've waited 4 years for a ride in his Porsche racecar and I'm still waiting.
$2.15 sounds like a decent price for a slice of Boston cream pie, but $1.07 is like taking candy from a baby. Fortunately, there was only one piece left, otherwise, I would have bought the entire pie!
Since I had never eaten Ethiopian food, we went to Queen of Sheba for lunch. For the full authenticity effect, we ate with our hands.
I thought I loved food, but this guy loves it more than me. He's a walking Guide Live.
I've been trying to lose weight and working here is not helping. What we have here is a fine example of what the Mary Kay bakery offers -- Italian cream cake. This is the second day in a row that I've had this fine dessert.
The guys at my new job enjoy going to interesting places for lunch. Today, we went to the foodcourt at Willowbend mall. Afterwards, we walked around and I just couldn't resist buying another RC helicopter, this time from Shady-o-Rack. Talk about one expensive lunch. So far, the Micro Mosquito from Interactive Toys has lasted more than 5 minutes of flight. It is built for indoor flying, is crash-resistant, and spare parts can be ordered online. The box and manuals have proper English. That is definitely a good sign.
Part of my birthday weekend celebration included going to the gun range. Here, Carlo is giving a lesson on the proper way to shoot a Glock-19.
After the Boardwalk Ferrari car show, we went to Lion City Cafe for a late lunch. Of course, Carlo parked next to me to avoid door dings.
I told Becky that I wanted just a small dinner party with friends so she got us a room reserved at Josephine's Winebar. Unlike the other winebars that we go to, Josephine's does not emphasize just wine, but the meal with wine. My 8oz filet special just melted in my mouth while the proscuitto spinach and mashed potatoes were delicious.
Somebody ordered a ham/cheese/crackers appetizer (John and May?).
Henry ordered calamari. I hear it's an aphrodesiac...
I have no idea what this is, but it looks good to eat.
One of Carlo's friend's brother won a trophy for his f430. I thought the trophy reflection off the front bumper was cool so I took this pic.
Ferrari owners tend to be vain down to the personalized plates. I hope to be one of those owners some day.
Old and new: Carlo had the owner of the black 911 Turbo park next to him for a picture since he used to own an exact same black 911 Turbo.
The engine may be low-tech, but this is one of the best angles on a Ford GT. You get to see the engine and how wide the rear tire is.
An American exotic or an American supercar?
Part of owning a RUF is getting a wild color. I love the green on the RGT.
RUF BTR that is based off the Porsche 964 Turbo. If memory serves me correct, this is one of the cars that brought a great deal of international publicity to RUF.
Another RUF based off the Porsche Cayman S.
This is a RUF RGT that is based on the Porsche 997 GT-3.
Despite being a Ferrari carshow, there were quite a few Porsches and RUFs on display. This is a RUF RT12 based on a Porsche 997 Turbo.
Carlo was invited to display his P-bug by the event organizer himself. Carlo told me to come and hang out and so I did. Imagine pulling up to a wedding for a photography gig in this yellow beast.
This car is so un-Maserati, but I like it.
Ferrari and Maserati are not invulnerable to sharing components. The Maserati MC12 shares its chassis with the Enzo Ferrari.
Everybody knows what the prancing horse means...
